The AgSource Soil and Forage Laboratories in Bonduel, Wis., and Belmond, Iowa, and AgSource Harris Laboratories in Lincoln, Neb., are industry leaders in providing broadbased agronomic testing services. Laboratory results help customers increase profits and product yields by identifying potential problems in soil nutrient levels, soil pH or plant nutrient utilization. Feed & Forage Analysis
A wide variety of feed products are capable of being analyzed at our lab. The majority of can be analyzed by NIR. Typical constituents include dry matter, protein, acid detergent fiber, neutral detergent fiber along with major minerals phosphorus, calcium, magnesium and potassium. Upgraded packages include ash, fat, lignin, NDF_CP, starch, pH and NDF digestibility. Wet chemistry analysis is available for most constituents listed. Manure AnalysisManure analysis is an excellent way to improve management of manure as a fertilizer source and increase profitability. Also, it is the best way to develop accurate nutrient management plans and reduce negative environmental effects. Identifying manure nutrient levels avoids over or under application to protect the environment and achieve maximum productivity. And, with increased regulations, proper manure management is critical. AgSource provides manure analysis services in a variety of packages to give you the flexibility to select the information you need along with the confidence your results will help maximize the resources you have. Plant Tissue AnalysisTissue testing or petiole analysis is the backbone of any nutrition management plan for fruit and vegetable crops and a critical element for all other crops. Routine tissue analysis detects low nutrient concentrations before visible symptoms or yield reductions occur. Tissue testing is used to predict fertilizer needs. Soil AnalysisSoil testing is valuable for economic and environmental reasons. If soil fertility or pH levels are low, adding more fertilizer or lime will increase yields and have a large positive monetary impact for the producer. If soil fertility levels are very high, thousands of dollars of annual fertilizer savings can be realized as fertility levels are drawn down to optimal levels. Turf Testing AnalysisAgSource provides a variety of services to golf courses including soil tests, plant tissue analysis, irrigation water analysis and greenhouse media analysis. AgSource provides feed and forage analysis services in a variety of packages and options for both Wet Chemistry and NIR analyses. Roughly 50 percent of our analysis is done using wet chemistry. This gives AgSource customers a huge advantage in accuracy versus competitor labs that run infrequent wet chemistry samples. Since our wet chemistry lab is running full time, we constantly check our NIR samples to assure their accuracy. This also enables us to update our NIR equations on a regular basis.
