Manganese can cause objectionable and tenacious stains in laundry and plumbing fixtures at high levels.

Acceptable results:  There is no health standard although rarely above 1 ppm.

Sources: Occurs in domestic wastewater, industrial effluents and receiving streams.

Recommended testing:  If hard to remove laundry stains are present.
