Magnesium

Magnesium is an important contributor to the hardness of water. High levels when heated can cause scaling.

Acceptable results:  No health standards but 30 ppm or less is ideal.

Sources: Limestone and mineral deposits in the aquifer.

Recommended testing: If scaling in plumbing fixtures or considering adding a water softener.
