AgSource ELECTS NEW DIRECTOR AND OFFICERS
VERONA, Wis. - Edward Strauss, Sheboygan Falls, was elected as President of the Board of Directors at the AgSource Annual Meeting held in Bloomington, Minnesota on March 24. At the meeting LeRoy Schmitz, Fond du Lac, was re-elected as vice president; and Dave Koepke, Hartland, was elected as secretary. Schmitz and Strauss also represent AgSource on the Cooperative Resources International (CRI) Board of Directors. In addition, Dan Monson, Brodhead, was elected to the board while Bruce Berth, Coleman, and Nathan Kling, Taylor, were re-elected to their seats on the board.
Strauss has served on the Board of Directors for the cooperative since 2005 and has previously served as secretary. Strauss is an owner of Majestic Meadows Dairy LLC, formed in 1998 with his son, Dean, and Bob Radloff. The farm consists of 680 cows and 1,450 acres of corn, hay, and soybeans. Strauss served on the Sheboygan County DHIA board for eight years, and has been an AgSource Delegate for nine years. He has also has served as Co-Chairman of Grounds Committee for 2006 Farm Technology Days, Kettle Lakes Cooperative Board of Directors, and the Chairman of the Town of Sheboygan Falls Board of Appeals.
Monson is a managing partner in Spring Grove Dairy. Spring Grove Dairy employs 26 full time employees, milking 1, 850 cows. Monson also brings experience from the industry, having worked as a dairy consultant prior to return to manage Spring Grove Dairy. Monson is active in community and industry groups including serving on the Wisconsin FFA Alumni State Council.
Berth operates a fourth generation 60 cow dairy in Coleman, Wis. Berth is active in the industry serving as a delegate for Genex and Land'O Lakes. He also serves as the president of the Coleman FFA Alumni and is a member of the Marinette County Holstein Association.
Kling operates a 350 acre farm in Jackson County, rotationally grazing 160 cows. Kling has served on the Wisconsin Farm Bureau Young Farmers Committee and Dairy Committee, and currently serves as the Jackson County Farm Bureau Young Farmer Secretary/Treasurer. He is also involved in the Jackson County Dairy Promotion Committee.
