AgSource is the largest full service DHI provider in the United States providing on-farm milk recording and sampling services, laboratory analysis, data processing and creation of management information. The AgSource DHI Division equips dairy producers with information for effective herd management. AgSource DHI reports include herd and individual cow performance measurements to aid in managing milk production, fresh cows, reproduction, replacement animals, genetics and milk urea nitrogen. AgSource DHI members gross over $1,000 per cow more annually than non-DHI producers through higher levels of productivity and superior milk quality.
The AgSource DHI laboratory in Menomonie, Wis., is one of the largest in the country. Tests available include butterfat, protein, milk urea nitrogen and milk quality tests for somatic cell count. Milk culturing services are available to DHI members through the Stratford lab.
A staff of Field Technicians work on member farms daily. Field staff utilize FTech, a module of Dairy Comp 305, the most widely used herd management software. AgSource also offers members multiple options for electronic data access and support for on-farm management systems.
The AgSource DHI Division also provides laboratory and/or processing services to several member DHI associations who provide direct service to producers. AgSource maintains relationships with key industry and university experts to develop new tools for dairy herd management.
