AGSOURCE COW NUMBERS ON THE RISE

VERONA, Wis. -  Despite challenging times in the dairy industry, AgSource continues to add DHI herds who are seeing the value of DHI information.  AgSource added another 6,000 cows to its active testing rolls in July.  The addition of these cows now brings the total to 730,916 cows serviced by AgSource.  This change reflects a 42,000 cow increase since February and the highest total number of cows seen by the cooperative in 14 years, a time when Wisconsin had nearly a quarter million more total cows.

Pete Giacomini, Chief Operating Officer for AgSource, stated "This growth reflects the commitment AgSource has made to providing the right management information to our members and their recognition that information is part of the solution.  As a cooperative, AgSource remains committed to meeting the needs of our members by continuing to enhance the products and services made available to them and introducing products that add value to DHI testing."

Contributing to AgSource's growth has been the cooperative's commitment to providing fast, accurate, and valuable information to members.  Over the past several years, AgSource has made a significant investment in product development.  This investment has resulted in products like the Fresh Cow Summary with the exclusive Transition Cow Index®, a revised Udder Health Management Package, and an improved Herd Summary.

AgSource, headquartered in Verona, Wis., is a subsidiary of Cooperative Resources International and a memeber-owned cooperative that provides agricultural and environmental laboratory analysis and management information services to members and clients from North American and overseas from eight locations in the Midwest and Northwest.
