JEFFERSON COUNTY MISS "Q" WINNERS RECOGNIZED

JEFFERSON, Wis. - The 2009 Jefferson County Fair Miss "Q" Contest showcased youth for quality milk production.  The contest awards are presented to individuals in four lactation classes. The animal in each class with the lowest lactation average linear score, indicating the highest quality milk, is declared the winner. The winning entries received the opportunity to sell one gallon of milk at the AgSource Miss Q Auction held during the fair. Proceeds from the auction are awarded to the winning youth exhibitors for them to further develop their dairy project or finance their post secondary education.

            The first quality milk pitcher was won by Kallie Kiesow and was purchased by Waupun Equipment, Watertown for $175.00.   The second lactation quality milk pitcher was awarded to Cassy Krull and was purchased by Dr. L. C. Allenstein for $250.00. Bryce Krull won the third lactation quality milk pitcher and was purchased by Waupun Equipment, Watertown for $200.00.  Winning the fourth lactation and greater quality milk pitcher was Katy Heine and was purchased by Waupun Equipment, Watertown for $150.00.
