      AgSource Partners With Tru-Test

AgSource has partnered with Tru-Test, the world's leading provider of portable milk meters to provide calibration and meter repair services to Tru-Test's line of Electronic Milk Meters EMMs). Currently, there are over 400 meters in Tru-TestMeter.jpguse, with demand growing for this technology including 275 EMMs currently owned by AgSource.

The partnership is a win-win situation for both organizations. Prior to AgSource acquiring the Mega Test Rigs, high checks all functions of the meter like sampling, air leaks and agitation, all meters in need of repair were sent to New Zealand, home of Tru-Test, for repair and calibration. The repair and calibration process was lengthy due to shipping leading to a loss of productivity for both organizations. AgSource will be the exclusive repair and calibration provider for EMMs in North America. The Mega Test Rigs also do calibration ensuring meters are accurate. There are only six Mega Test Rigs worldwide.

To prepare for the Mega Test and Calibration Rigs, AgSource staff members John Johnson and Paul Jandrin traveled to New Zealand for two weeks of intensive training on meter repair and calibration. While in New Zealand, both Johnson and Jandrin worked on the Mega Test Rigs building them specifically for AgSource. Upon the completion of the training, the rigs were shipped to Menomonie, Wis. The instruments arrived with six test meters on which Johnson and Jandrin calibrated and sent data back to New Zealand. The results were compared to data taken before shipping. This quality control feature ensures the Mega Test Rigs are properly set-up.

By providing EMM calibration and repair, AgSource will better be able to serve members with fast, accurate field service. In addition, revenue generated from the repair of meters not owned by AgSource will help the cooperative continue to provide the value added services members have come to expect from AgSource.
