VOEGELI AWARDED DISTINGUISHED LEADERSHIP AWARD
AgSource Cooperative Services recognized Debbie Voegeli for her leadership in the cooperative at their annual meeting March 24 with the Distinguished Leadership Award. The Distinguished Leadership Award is presented to an individual who, as a member of the cooperative, has demonstrated exceptional service and provided extraordinary leadership at all levels of the organization.
Voegeli's service to DHI included 6 years of service on the Columbia-Marquette County DHIA Board of Directors, including two terms as President. In 1992, she was elected to the AgSource Board of Directors. During her time on the board, Voegeli contributed to the formation of Cooperative Resources International, the first non-DHI acquisitions for the cooperative, and the name change of the cooperative.
Voegeli and her husband, Louie, milk 80 registered Brown Swiss on their farm in Arlington. The farm also includes 205 acres of hay and corn. Voegeli has been active in the Brown Swiss Association, as well as a 4-H leader.
"Deb was always a source of stability and a steady hand through rocky times" stated LeRoy Schmitz, Vice President of the AgSource Board of Directors who served with Voegeli and made the presentation. "Deb was always there, always reliable, always listening, and could always be counted on to ask the right questions."
AgSource, headquartered in Verona, Wis., is a subsidiary of Cooperative Resources International and a member-owned cooperative that provides agricultural and environmental laboratory analysis and management information services to members and clients from North America and overseas from eight locations in the Midwest and Northwest.
