AGSOURCE RECOGNIZES EMPLOYEES

AgSource Cooperative Services recognized several outstanding employees for their valuable service to the cooperative at their annual meeting March 24.

The recipient of the 2009 Outstanding Service Award for the Field Service was awarded to Dan Salter. Salter has been an AgSource Field Technician for over 21 years in the Fond du Lac County area. Salter serves 71 herds with nearly 12,000 cows, with 99.5% of animals that are ID, 92% Processed and sold over $5,000 in resale supplies. "Dan is one of the most professional employees I have worked with. He is very dedicated to his career. Dan is the quiet success story in the Northeast Region" stated Erin Booth, Regional Sales Manager for AgSource.

The Outstanding Service Award for the Laboratory/Office Area was awarded to Virginia Hustad. Hustad is a licensed Laboratory Technician at the Menomonie laboratory. She has been with AgSource for 14 years and is a key player in the process of analyzing samples in the laboratory. Her work in the lab is critical to accurate identification, analysis, recording and merging of milk sample data. She also has played a major role in training new employees.

Special recognition was also given to Ron Thompson, an AgSource Field Technician in the Northwest Region, for 50 years of service. Thompson began his career with St. Croix DHIA in 1958 as a Field Technician. He served as the Association Manager of St. Croix DHIA for 15 years until they merged with Wisconsin DHIC Menomonie Center in 1985. He worked as a Service Coordinator for two years and went on to work as a Field Technician in the St. Croix area, the position he holds today.
