AGSOURCE PRESENTS STATE FAIR DAIRY PRODUCTION AWARDS

VERONA, Wis. - AgSource is proud to support the Wisconsin State Fair Junior Dairy Show. Nearly six hundred dairy exhibitors from across the state participated in the week-long event, held in West Allis, Wis., making it the largest dairy youth show in the world.

AgSource recognized the show's production award winners. The cow with the highest combined fat and protein production for her breed was named the champion production award winner. While class placings do not factor into this award, three of the six production champions were also Grand Champions of their individual breed shows.

Dylan Herbrand, Dane County, exhibited the Ayrshire Production Champion, Autumn Air PB Spectacular with 1,496 lbs. of combined fat & protein (CFP). Herbrand also exhibited the Brown Swiss Champion, Lone Acres C Faith, with 1,629 lbs. of CFP. Paul Grulke, from Dodge County, exhibited the champion Holstein, Smith-Crest-TW SH Virgie-ET, with 3,080 lbs. The champion Jersey was Fritz N Hannahs Peace of Mind, exhibited by Hannah Ullom, of Dunn County.  Peace of Mind produced 2,560 lbs. CFP. Mikayla Knorn, Kewaunee County, exhibited the Guernsey Champion, Knapps Les Reba, with 1,698 lbs., and McKenna Coffeen, Brown County, exhibited the Red & White Production Award Champion, Jimdandy BW Glimmer - Red, with 2,437 lbs.

Awards were presented on Sunday, August 6, during the Dairyland Youth Celebration. Each of the winning exhibitors was also presented with a set of Andis professional clippers, compliments of the Andis Company of Racine, Wisconsin.
