NEW Udder HealTH MANAGEnt tool Now Available to Members

Verona, Wis. - AgSource began production of its new Udder Health Management (UHM) Package January 1.  The new reports were developed to help members better manage Somatic Cell Count (SCC) information.

"We want to make SCC information more than just a culling tool. This package provides producers more accurate and responsive triggers to changes in udder health." describes Ron Curran, Manager of Market Development. "It pinpoints where problem areas are with more accuracy than any other report on the market. Using this information, AgSource members can take their management to the next level and prevent future udder infections."

The new AgSource Udder Health Management Summary and Cow Report have a greater reliance on visual presentation of the data.  Color coding is used to improve the ability of the user to navigate through the reports quickly, seamlessly tying herd based and individual cow information together. Both reports were developed through collaboration with the School of Veterinary Medicine, University of Wisconsin-Madison and its Food Animal Production Medicine Team, led by Dr. Nigel Cook.  According to Dr. Cook, "No other testing organization or on-farm computer program delivers the depth of analysis and summarization that has been achieved in the new reports."

All AgSource members processing test day information will receive these UHM reports at no cost through March. For more information on this package, go to http://www.agsource.com/ , call 800-236-0097 or contact your local Field Technician.
