CRI Enters Agreement with French A.I. Cooperative

SHAWANO, Wis. - Cooperative Resources International (CRI), a world-leading bovine genetics cooperative headquartered in Shawano, Wis., and AMELIS, a French bovine genetics cooperative, have signed a memorandum of understanding with the intent to jointly market semen on an international basis.

Management staff from both organizations will finalize the terms of the agreement in coming months as additional aspects of cooperation are further analyzed. The overall goal will be to promote growth and economic efficiency while providing a high-quality product to improve the profitability of dairies worldwide.

Formed in 1993, CRI became the United States' first member-owned agricultural holding cooperative. Today, high-quality semen from breed-leading CRI sires is distributed in over 60 countries across the globe. CRI also demonstrates a strong commitment to research and innovation, while procuring sires that lead to long-living, healthy, profitable dairy herds.

AMELIS, formed in 2004, groups three member-owned cooperatives involved in cattle, pig and horse industries in the northwest of France. With 600,000 cows inseminated, AMELIS is a French leader in providing high genetic bulls to French breeders and reproduction services solutions to their 17,000 members.
